Currach Single Malt Irish Whiskey announce the arrival of a single cask with a special finish.

Currach Whiskey have partnered with Western Head Brewing Co. to create a bespoke Currach Single Malt Irish Whiskey Cask Strength Single Cask bottling exclusively for the Irish market.

The new expression of Currach Wakame Seaweed Single Cask is finished in a cask seasoned with Western Herd Brewing Company Flora & Fauna Double IPA Cask Finish.

Made from 100% Irish malted barley, it is a triple distilled single malt Irish whiskey. Initially matured in first fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in Atlantic Wakame seaweed charred virgin American oak casks. For this bottling the whiskey has been given an additional finishing in a cask seasoned with Western Herd’s award-winning Flora & Fauna Double IPA.

Currach said “the additional IPA cask finish adds wonderful earthy, pine and pineapple notes to the unique briny yet sweet maritime notes and green tea undertones that the Wakame charred casks provide”. This limited-edition bottling is non-chilled filtered, with no caramel colouring, and is bottled at natural cask strength (56.7% alc/vol.).

Retailing at €110.
